THE WEST COAST ECO TOUR
The West Coast : It is recommended that you spend at least five days in this area to truly appreciate the variety of attractions. The prevalent semi-arid character of the land might strike you. Here, you will find vast unspoilt beaches, spectacular wild flowers, succulent plants, friendly people, traditional food and excellent wines. Noticeable are the influences of the original French and Dutch settlers had on the quaint little towns in the area.
The area probably features the richest diversity of succulent plant species in the world. Most of these plants are endemic. A floral wonder occurs in early winter. The sunbaked, sandy plains and Sandstone Mountains metamorphose into a kaleidoscope of brilliant colors in spring. A miracle and truly unique to this area. At various sites in the mountains along the West Coast, Khoi and Bushmen left a wonderful legacy through their Rock Art.
The Hotels, Guest Houses, B & B’s and resorts offer up market accommodation, traditional cuisine, and conference facilities, whilst combining old world charm with country hospitality and professional service.
